Job title:  Junior Web Developer
Location: Manchester    Salary: £26,000
Position: Permanent /Full-time

An exiting opportunity has become available for a Junior Web Developer to join an independent software company in a permanent full-time role earning up to £26,000 per year. As a Junior Web Developer, you will be working with senior developers as part of the team responsible for the development of the company’s next generation of web-based investigations case management solutions.  The role is ideal for someone looking to quickly develop their skills within a small agile team of developers and subject matter experts.

The technologies used at Xanalys include:

  • TypeScript, jQuery, Angular2,
  • HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap
  • NET MVC, C#
  • WCF Web Services,
  • XML, XSD, XPath, XSL
  • SQL Server, Oracle,
  • Microsoft Azure,
  • Microsoft Visual Studio

A good degree in a STEM subject plus some web development experience is essential, preferably using the Microsoft stack and JavaScript or TypeScript. Experience with Angular2 or a similar framework is desirable but training in the relevant technologies will be provided.

In addition to technical experience we are looking for candidates with the general skills and aptitude to be successful software developers:

  • Numerical and analytical skills proven via a suitable degree or similar
  • Capable of working in a team or as an individual
  • Self-motivated and self-starting
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Confidence and ability to contribute in the design and development of new applications under the guidance of senior developers

The starting salary will be up to £26,000 per year depending on experience.  Bonuses are paid annually and are dependent on company performance. Other benefits include contributory pension, generous holiday allowance and flexible working hours
