Pre-requisites
The course has been developed for those who are already familiar
with Windows 95/98/2000 or NT.
Course Duration
The course is scheduled to cover 5 days. It is classroom based,
with practical activities throughout.
Objectives
The course guides new users of XANALYS PowerCase
through the use of the system. It includes an overview of
the Incident Administration role, and introduces the concepts
of a document lifecycle and information extraction. Essentially,
the course provides a structured and practical introduction
to the functionality of XANALYS PowerCase.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Explain what XANALYS PowerCaser is - and how
it can be utilized within your area of operation.
- Explain "The Cycle" of a document, and the differences
between documents and objects.
- Describe the basic role and use of Incident Administration.
- Add documents to an incident and use the PowerIndexing
facility for information extraction. Research and edit PowerIndexed
results and enter them into your database.
- Use research forms and free text search to locate required
information within your incident.
Demonstrate the use of actions; create, edit, allocate,
manage.
- Describe the recording of events; record and research
an event, add an event to an index plan, sequence a series
of events.
- Use List Manager to group incident records of the same
type and binder to assemble and print incident materials.
- Add non-text based information to a PowerCase
document using multimedia attachments.
- Use XANALYS Link Explorer to view and explore your data,
create various different queries and charts.
