XIM Features

XIM’s advanced intelligence management features set it apart from other investigative solutions

All XIM data is represented in a rich, common, object-based data model which supports extensive cross-referencing (i.e. linking) between all records giving the following benefits:

Data can be represented in the database in a manner that most accurately reflects how it exists in the real world. Cross-references aren’t just simple links, but hold data that can be analysed.
Multiple cross-references can be created between two records to represent different types of relationship. Documents and entities can be cross-referenced across cases. Data can more effectively be exploited by analytical techniques such as entity resolution, link analysis and temporal analysis – XIM is fully integrated with the Xanalys analytical suite.

XIM’s document indexing facility extracts intelligence from forms and text based attachments (Word, PDF, html) and automatically researches entities such as people, places, accounts and events to proactively alert users to potential matches to existing data.  The result is that every new document is reviewed in the context of all existing case knowledge, indicating to the user any important or hidden associations.

XIM’s search facility gives users the ability to build and run search criteria across individual record types or the entire database to quickly locate records of interest. Direct matches are supplemented by fuzzy and soundex matching algorithms.

There is no need to import or cut-and-paste text from your Word, PDF or other document types into XIM forms. As soon as you attach a document to your incident or case, it can be searched, indexed or tagged directly from the XIM interface.

Data Visualisation and Analysis

Use XIM’s embedded link chart to view the associations between different objects. This feature is particular useful when indexing documents, as it displays the extracted content in a single view, and also supports the rapid creation of links between records via selection/drag/drop.

XIM is also integrated with the Xanalys Link Explorer suite. Query, view and analyse live case data across a range of different presentation types – link charts, hierarchy charts, timelines and maps.

Case Preparation

Whether preparing court materials or building a report on a key person or company in your investigation, reviewing and compiling your case materials can be difficult and time consuming. XIM, through its integration with Xanalys eBrief, simplifies this process by providing tools to search, select and insert documents, records and multimedia into a briefing “binder”, complete with customisable front page and table of contents. A wide range of automatically generated briefs and reports are also supported.
