Detect emerging threats, capture intelligence and conduct effective investigations into counterfeiting operations, parallel or grey markets, and consumer scams.
Protection of your intellectual property (IP) is not only critical to your bottom line, but is also important to customer perceptions of your brand. The ability to identify and assess any violations, then prepare a strong case against those who misuse your intellectual property, is essential.
A high quality, dedicated case management and intelligence system makes all the difference when trying to collate and assess prosecution quality evidence on counterfeiting operations and rogue traders. Xanalys Investigation Management (XIM) is a complete investigative solution, offering an intuitive, user-friendly interface that can be easily configured to your unique business requirements.
Capture and evaluate all incoming incident reports
Incidents of IP infringements and other scams can be raised by tip-offs from the public, retail staff, ongoing investigations, or internal IT systems. XIM ensures these are accurately recorded and evaluated, using a workflow that encourages a thorough and repeatable investigative methodology.
Xanalys’ approach to investigation management places intelligence generation and analysis at its core. Entities and associations are extracted from the documents and reports that investigative activities generate – people, places, telephone numbers, accounts, product serial numbers, etc. – all are automatically matched to existing data, alerting users to potential similarities to other incidents and cases. Data across the entire XIM database can be visualised and analysed to reveal rich intelligence, helping to ensure your next decision is based on objective evidence.
Task management is a fundamental aspect of your day-to-day activities, so XIM includes a powerful ‘action’ administration capability. New lines of enquiry and sets of instructions can be created, assigned and managed in an ‘Incident Running Sheet’ which not only provides a collaborative workspace, but defines a chronological view of the case. Action lists show investigators their current workload and managers the status of various actions.
Seize and track counterfeit or grey property, document forensic test results and log the movement of property during the investigation, ensuring you know where your physical evidence is at any time.
Search and access your data
Investigations create increasingly large set of data, including document and multimedia attachments, so it is vital you can find exactly what information you need both easily and quickly. XIM’s search tools run across not only the various XIM forms, but also any attached Microsoft Word and PDF documents. All XIM records can be categorised or “tagged”, making retrieval of related sets of data straightforward.
XIM utilises a strongly cross-referenced data model which ensures that related data is linked. These links not only facilitate search but allows case data to be visualised in link charts, timelines and maps, making associations and patterns in your data crystal clear.
Reports and Briefs of Evidence
XIM turns the potentially tedious task of report and brief creation into a rapid click-to-include process. Starting with any record (e.g. Case, Incident, Person), XIM’s eBrief tool will automatically create a dossier on that record, building an electronic document that contains not only details on that record, but all associated entities and relevant attachments. eBriefs are published as shareable XPS or PDF formats. List based reports can be exported as csv files.
